Museo El Lancero is a beautiful hacienda, originally built and occupied in Cortes' day, and more recently by Grl. Santa Anna during his presidency. (Is that what they called it? I can't remember.) Anyway, General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (1795-1876), he of the Alamo, resident and dictator of Mexico for many years, lived here and the museum has it as he had it. The gardens are incredible. Later we went to a very beautiful waterfall, or really a series of them in the forest. Bananas and coffee grew everywhere. Those yellow-tailed birds that build those long hanging nests.
