Mt. Hollywood - Griffith Park

It was a great day for a walk in Griffith Park. Michael Alexander summed it up nicely: "Great hiking with you once again. I really enjoyed the group - having only six of us, we paired off at times (and tripled off) for various conversations, yet stuck together as a group. I had a lot of fun."

Me, too. Good air, good view, good exercise and good conversations. What a combination!

Some nice conversations with people we chanced to meet on the trail, too. First we came up on a group from India trying to get pix of themselves with the Hollywood Sign. Michael offered to take a picture of them all together, and then I asked if they would take one of all of us.

When we stopped at the top of Mt. Hollywood, an obvious and popular destination with it's 360°-view, a young man admired my bamboo stick (cut from my front yard, of course). I gave it to him. I think he was there with his son and father. I heard them speaking Russian, and found out they are from Odessa.

Meanwhile, Michael was talking politics with a couple of guys who happen to live in his neighborhood. More of us joined in, and it was quite lively and interesting.

Then we walked on a little further, and found a little pine tree adorned with Christmas tree bulbs. Out there on the mountain, with a view of downtown Glendale. It was very nice and, to me, very LA.
